Scholarships and Grants
One of the Garden Club of Toronto’s most important aims is to promote a love for the environment with emphasis on horticultural and gardening education. Our scholarship program focuses on post-secondary institutions except for the Teaching Garden scholarships. In the granting of the scholarships the criteria has been set by the Garden Club of Toronto, but it is the specific institution that selects the award recipient.
Awarded to a student entering the fourth year of study for being an outstanding student in the school year who has an interest in environmental horticulture or ornamental crop production. This scholarship has been awarded annually since 1952.

Awarded for academic merit in the second year of the three-year course. This scholarship has been awarded annually since 1966.

Awarded for a continuing student in the Landscape Technician Program who, in the judgment of the faculty, demonstrates a strong interest in landscape design and ornamental cultures in the school year. This scholarship has been awarded annually since 1999.

Awarded to two students who have excelled in the first year of the Horticultural program. This scholarship commensed in 2006.
Contact information: www.fanshawec.ca Awarded to help pay the costs for 3 bright grade 3 students from Thorncliff Park area to attend one week of camp during the summer at the TBG Teaching Garden. The teachers of the local public schools choose the students.

Other than the Teaching Garden Award, the recipients are invited to attend a Garden Club of Toronto meeting and luncheon in January and the Garden Club will also arrange that they receive a one year membership to the Toronto Botanical Garden at a special rate for a year.
