Sharing the wonder of Nature, through Education, Engagement, and Creativity

Enhancing horticultural knowledge and preserving the environment are key aims of the GCT. The Horticultural Committee and its Environmental subcommittee provide learning opportunities for members on pertinent topics through lectures, tours, demonstrations, and workshops. The Committee provides an introductory educational program for Provisionals and 2 half hour “Sessions with the Experts” at the October and February Monthly Meetings. The GCT offers members 6 Horticultural competitions annually and is also responsible for the schedule and the organization of the Horticulture section of The Toronto Flower Show (Canada Blooms).

In addition the GCT maintains strong relationships with Landscape Ontario, Master Gardeners of Ontario, Ontario Horticultural Association, Garden Clubs of Ontario, and provides scholarships to university and college students training in landscape design and horticulture.
